The Waves is a top-down sweater featuring eye-catching stranded colourwork above the waistband and a panel of cabled texture running from the shoulder and down the outside of the sleeve. The garment is worked top down, allowing the knitter to customise the garment as they work to suit personal preference. The fit of the body is oversized, with a modified drop-shoulder construction that allows the fabric to gently drape, and the sleeves are slim-fitting to allow the cable work to take centre stage. Two body lengths are offered in the design: cropped and full length.

SAMPLE
The wearer is 5’10” with a chest circumference of 37”. The sample has been worked in size M, giving 4.25” / 11cm of positive ease at the chest. The cropped body length has been worked, with an extra 9 rounds (i.e.: 1” / 2.5cm of length was worked in the body above the colourwork to allow for the wearer’s height. An extra 16 rounds (i.e.: 1.75” / 4.5cm) of length was also worked in the sleeves before starting the decreases.

SIZING
This garment is graded into sizes XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). Recommended positive ease is 3-8” / 7.5-20.5cm at the chest. Please note if you opt to downsize to achieve less than the recommended ease, you will likely need to modify the armscye depth to achieve a comfortable fit.
Chest Circumference: 36 (38.5, 41.25, 46.25, 48.75) (54, 56.5, 61.75, 64.25)” / 91.5 (98, 105, 117.5, 124) (137, 143.5, 157, 163) cm.

GAUGE
Using 3.25mm / US size 3 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 28 stitches over 38 rounds in stockinette stitch, blocked, creates a 4x4”/10x10cm square.

YARN
One of a Kind Yarn’s Merino / Mulberry Silk / Mohair light fingering base was used for this design (400m / 438yds per 100g). The Main Colour of the sample is a tonal brown and the Contrast Colour is a warm pink.
