The Whitman Pillow is a reversible pillow with opposing light and dark stripes that expand in size from the center outwards. The moss stitch (also known as woven stitch, linen stitch or granite stitch) is used which makes this piece a very relaxing crochet item to make.

The piece is inspired by a Walt Whitman quote: “Every moment of light and dark is a miracle.” The idea behind it for me is that wherever there is darkness, there is also light. We can’t have one without the other and therefore, we must appreciate them both.
