Meet the Windowpane Sweater: a classic, oversized, drop shoulder jumper with a bold checker pattern twist. Customize the colors to reflect your unique style; the possibilities are endless!

The garment is knit in the round from the bottom up. The front and back panels are divided at the armhole and the garment is then knit flat to the shoulder and seamed. Stitches are picked up at the neckline and worked in twisted rib to create the collar. Finally, stitches are picked up at the armhole for the sleeves, which are knit without decreases until the cuff ribbing to create a balloon sleeve.

The pattern includes instructions on how to create the windowpane motif or simple horizontal stripes, customize the length of the garment and sleeves, and customize the type of collar (crew neck, mock neck, and turtleneck).

LEVEL
This pattern is perfect for the advanced beginner who knows the basic knit, purl, cast on, and bind off techniques and wants to create their first garment and/or experiment with color blocking.

SIZING

The garment has a slightly oversized fit and is intended to be worn with approximately 7 in 18 cm of positive ease. To calculate the ease, subtract your actual bust measurement from the garment’s finished bust measurement. See the actual garment measurements to decide which size you would like to knit. For a tighter fit, size down, and for a looser fit, size up.
