cozy, textured cable beanie worked in the round with an all over cable design and ribbed brim. Choose between a simple single brim or a deeper double brim for extra warmth.

Size:

This pattern is written for one adult size and uses a 96 stitch cast on. The finished hat is designed to have a comfortable, stretchy fit.

For the brim, you can customize the length.

Single brim: 12 rounds

Larger double brim: 25 rounds or your desired length

Gauge

19 stitches × 26 rounds = 4” (10 cm) in the cable pattern using US 9 (5.5 mm) needles, lightly blocked.

Gauge can vary depending on your yarn and knitting style, so I recommend making a small swatch before starting.

Materials

Worsted weight yarn, approximately 200 yards (183 m)

US 6 (4 mm) 16” circular needles

US 9 (5.5 mm) 16” circular needles

Size 8 or 9 DPNs for crown decreases, or use Magic Loop

1 cable needle

Stitch markers

Tapestry needle

Scissors

Optional faux fur pom pom

Yarn

The sample is worked in one main color. A multicolored or speckled worsted weight yarn works beautifully with the cable pattern. One skein with approximately 200 yards should be enough.
