I began knitting THEODORE at the hospital just after Theo was born! I guess I am one of those Grandmothers who is a little superstitious. I really didn’t know what I would make, but I had brought 3 colors of Plucky Knitter Cashmere with me because I just wanted him to have his first feel of cashmere.

I finished the sweater in 2 days and went on to knit the vest in some Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy that I had from Yarn Culture. It seemed like a bit better choice, since it can be machine washed. I loved the wrong side of the Garter Ridge so much, that I knit the vest in Reverse Garter Ridge. I finished the vest by the time Theo was 5 days old! Yes, I have become that Grandmother…

You can see photos of Theo in both garments (and with little matching hats) in my Instagram (@versaciknits) feed.

I hope you jump right in and find a little baby to knit THEODORE for!

Note: The sweater is shown with 5 buttons, but it was a bit overwhelming, so I used 4 for the vest, which is what I list in BUTTONS below
