The Fair Isle patterns used in this hat represent my trek through the Himalayas of Nepal to Mount Everest Base Camp. Trekking there and back to the base of the tallest mountain on Earth. The Lux Adorna Knits colorways Icebox and Thunder are perfect for the cold, dangerous beauty of this rugged landscape. This super warm cashmere hat went with me on my journey, There and Back Again. Knitting this hat by the warmth of a roaring fire with a steaming mug of coffee is a much cozier challenge than the trek itself.

A note about yarn: This pattern calls for DK weight yarn. But keep in mind that cashmere DK, the recommended yarn, is going to bloom a lot, making a nice, dense fabric for your hat. Other DK yarns may not react the same way and may result in a thinner fabric. If you are not using the recommended Lux Adorna Cashmere yarn, you might want to consider using a light worsted weight yarn.
