Theta, aka |Θ’ita|, is the eighth letter of the Greek Alphabet and this hat is named after it, since the colorwork motif reminds me of this letter.
This pattern is part of a series of small-scale projects (hats, scarves, mittens and legwarmers) that were inspired by the traditional Greek motifs embroidered on many a Greek folk costume.
I isolated some of those lovely motifs and turned them into knitting patterns; I have kept the shapes as unchanged as possible and played with color combinations to freshen them up a bit. My goal is to give you some fun, easygoing patterns based on tradition, yet modern enough to wear anytime.
