These socks are my attempt to create more options for socks knit with the yarn held double. I have come to prefer the warmth and squishiness of thicker socks, and I love that it uses a full skein of sock yarn plus some minis or leftovers. They’re perfect for sock sets plus one more mini! They knit up so much faster than single stranded socks, so they’re perfect if you need to finish a pair in a hurry, for gift knits or a KAL deadline! There are three options for patterning, and all are easy to memorize once the pattern is established.

This pattern is knit using sock weight yarn held double throughout and comes in two adult sizes. They are knit cuff down, but an fairly experienced sock knitter can easily modify them to be knit toe up. Instructions for a heel flap and gusset are provided, but your preferred heel method or pattern can be substituted.

If you have purchased the Thick Socks Three Ways pattern, this pattern is half price (automatically updated in your cart).
