Thicket is named for the wild tangle of birch and pine in my secluded little forest. Walks through this magical place are cool, as the canopy only permits faint slivery streams of sunlight, bathing the woods in an ethereal glow. As such, extra warmth is always welcome.

Thicket is a ribbed cap, intended to be worn with a folded brim, and gentle slouch at the crown. The texture through the middle is achieved by using twisted stitches. No cables here! Just a little bit of interest suitable for the adventurous beginner, and still engaging for the seasoned pro.

I’ve used a fingering weight sock yarn, held double, to achieve the thick, squishy fabric. There is a lot of stretch to this pattern. As such, I’ve offered two sizes, child and adult.

Make Thicket your own using a favourite, special skein of fingering weight yarn held double, or a single strand of DK weight yarn.

I’m so happy I could share this little glimpse into my world with you. I hope you enjoy making Thicket and wish you joy in your making and time in your special places.
