Thimbleberry Mitts
These stranded colorwork mitts came about as a sudden inspiration to make something to keep my hands cozy while knitting (or trying too!) on my walks to work at my LYS, Starlight Knitting Society.
Naturally, I reached for two of the SOFTEST bulky yarns I could get at the shop and started to see how I could combine them to show them both off. They are so light and cozy, like little clouds for your hands!
The Thimbleberry Mitts knit up so quickly and with just a bit of a challenge to maintain the alternating 1x1 colorwork pattern. They will keep an intermediate knitter entertained with just the right amount of intricacy in exchange for the lovely effect.
Sizes: While the design is unisex the pattern is currently written for ONE SIZE, a finished hand circumference of 6.25” with 1” negative ease, i.e. an excellent fit on a hand with ~7.25” circumference.
Suggested Yarn: Woolfolks Fleck Bulky + Manos del Uruguays Franca are a perfect pair for this project. But you can use any soft, bulky yarn on hand that gives you the correct gauge.
Yardage: MC: Approximately 45 yards CC: Approximately 30 yards
