This is a recipe for a 72 stitch sock. Knit it knit toe up or top down. Use whatever heel and toe you like best.

Charts are provided for the stranded motifs which tell the story of some of our universal experiences in the Spring of 2020:
Crown: Corona Pandemic
Waves: Uncertainty and emotional roller coaster
Linked hearts: The new ways we found to help and support each other in this time of social distancing / together / apart
Broken Chain: The losses and lack of normalcy

The stranded motifs require only small quantities of yarn. About 5 grams (20 yards) or less per color.

The charts are a starting point. Mix in your yarn and imagination and have fun!

(The model socks were knit using the heel from the brilliant Double Heelix pattern by Jeny Staiman (Knitty, 2011). )*
