It’s time to find your needles…..It’s time to ball some yarn…..

The Muppet Show theme song is now stuck in your head. You are very welcome

Because it is double knit, the scarf is fully reversible with opposite color schemes on each side. You can see a video about how I do double knitting here.

You will need at least two colors of light fingering weight yarn and size 2-3 knitting needles. For this scarf I used 3 skeins of Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/4 in black, and 1 skein of a bunch of other colors appropriate to each Muppet. This could also be a great stash buster if you have a lot of little balls of fingering weight yarn. For the model scarf, each Muppet square took about 40 yards of colored yarn. The finished model scarf is 7” wide and 84” long.

Can you crochet this pattern? Yes! The Muppets will be slightly stretched vertically, but they would still be recognizable! Crochet stitches are usually taller than knit stitches, so you might end up with a very, very long scarf unless you remove a few Muppets. The yarn amounts will also be different since a crochet scarf will not be double sided. See a video about how to crochet a knit pattern here.
