This pattern is created with a knitted brioche, alternating with garter sections. The decreases create a triangle pattern on the crown of the hat that spiral to a swirling end. Different yarns can be used for different effects, including different minis, remnants of self-striping yarn, or just two solids! You pick your adventure to make this hat got this way or that! This hat pattern will have a fitted brim, with a looser fit for the rest of the hat.

Gauge is very important for this hat, remember that your gauge will effect the end product. Change your needle size to achieve the proper fit!

Gauge: For ribbing, 10 stitches and 10 rows per inch, unblocked. The blocked gauge is 9 stitches and 10 rows per inch.
For the brioche pattern unblocked and unblocked gauge is 8 stitches per inch, 8 rows is 7/8 inch, one repeat of the brioche and garter section is 1 inch.
