Thonnan is a patterned top inspired by the sea and has a touch of whimsy too. Scotland is one of Katt’s favourite countries and since it’s surrounded by miles and miles of coastline, she couldn’t resist exploring how that might translate into a garment. The word Thonnan means waves in Scots Gaelic.

The design has been created to allow lots of choices, including 3 sleeve options, so the knitter can experiment and explore different aesthetics depending on their choices. We’ve gone for a DK-weight yarn and fluff but using a lace-weight summer fibre could also work beautifully in place of the fluff.

Measurements are for the finished garment. The garment is designed to be worn with around 10 -15 cm / 4 - 6 in of positive ease on the chest. Optional modifications instructions for sleeves and body length are included in the pattern.
