This squishy garter shawl/scarf is the perfect piece to use when faced with a brisk day. The garter style is quick and easy for anyone from beginner to more advanced, while the stripes keep the pattern from becoming stagnant. Choose a couple of your favorite colors and have a piece that you can wear year round. Though Asymmetrical, the side to side method allows you to see the growing size without having to bind off several hundreds of stitch as in traditional patterns. Severe Blocking will cause it to grow in size and yet trap the warmth in its folds.

For a bigger shawl simply continue the striping as far as you like. Acrylic yarn won’t block as well as wool. If you find your material too loose or too tight, feel free to switch up the needle sizes
