Thrapple - from the old Scots for throat.

A quick one skein project, featuring dropped stitches to make a cozy kerchief. You can play about with where you drop the stitches for different effects.

The green version is made in Artesano British Chunky and the natural version is made using Sheepfold Jacob Suffolk Marl, held double.

Please consider using wool spun, grown or dyed in the UK for this project.

Instead of securing the dropped loop with a stitch at the end, you could make a yarn over or twist a stitch on the last row of garter at the start of the scarf, where you intend the stitch to drop - so that the ladder stops of its own accord. Thanks to Amelia for this!
