This is an easy top-down, in-the-round crochet hat pattern using three sizes of hooks and only the single crochet stitch (with increases) all the way around.

It’s fast and seamless.

Only one skein of Lion Brand Heartland is needed, or any smooth worsted-weight yarn.

Gauge is NOT important. You measure as you go in inches and by putting the hat on your head or matching it to the measurements of the head you’re making it for.

I created this pattern because I like a slouchy beret/beanie hat and don’t enjoy crocheting decreases, which put bumps and other unsightly features in the finished texture.

This pattern creates a smooth overall finish, but you can improvise any number of creative twists and bobbles as you go. It’s up to you! I’ve provided the basics.

Make a hat!
