Three Steps Forward is a pattern for those gorgeous skeins
of hand-painted yarn that are fun to buy, but hard to find
good patterns for! It’s simple yet interesting to knit and it
shows the best of highly variegated yarn.

Three Steps Forward Socks are worked from the cuff down,
with a flap heel, and the last stitches in the toe are grafted
together using Kitchener Stitch. There are two different
cable stitch patterns, which both use slipped stitches and
1/1-cables.

Charts are worked both in the round and flat. When working
chart in the round, read each chart row from right to left as a
RS row; when working chart flat, read RS rows (even numbers)
from right to left, and WS rows (odd numbers) from left to right.
