Thrive cowl was inspired by growing things and is meant to symbolise the tenacity of life. It represents plant life that is rooted deep in the earth and grows upward to the sky. I also wanted to encapsulate the feeling of safety and warmth of being surrounded by greenery - that sense of being sheltered and nurtured that you get in a forest.

Thrive cowl is worked from the bottom-up (or top-down! you can wear it either way up!) and in the round. I have included a full chart and written instructions.

Size:
12”/30cm wide (24”/60cm circumference)
10.5”/26.5cm tall

Yarn:
Any DK yarn, any colour. A solid/semi-solid is best to highlight the textured cable pattern.
Your yarn should ideally have some spring (a nylon and/or merino blend would work well) and not be too fuzzy or have too much drape.

Sample shown in:
Sirdar No.1 DK 50% acrylic, 50% nylon in Ever Green (232) - 230m/251yds per 100g
For the sample, I used 216m/236yds (94g)

Gauge:
21st & 27rows per 4”/10cm on 4mm needles in stockinette
Needles
4mm/US 6 needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)
24”/60cm circular needles (or slightly shorter, depending on preference)
Cable needle

Notions:
Locking stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Optional: 4 additional stitch markers (scrap yarn is fine!) in a contrasting colour

Skills needed:
Knitting in the round
Cables (instructions are both charted and written)
There is a full stitch guide that explains the stitches in more detail.
