Sizes

  • 1 (2, 3) Finished hat brim circumferences: 16 (19.25, 22.5)” / 40.6 (49, 57)cm
  • Choose your size to match your desired garment hat brim circumference. This pattern is suggested to be worn with 2.5”/6.4cm of negative ease. Meaning the hat brim is 2.5”/6.4cm smaller than head circumference.
  • You may also choose to adjust the final outcome of the hat circumference measurement by changing the yarn weight you use or what needle sizes you choose to knit with.

Yarn

  • 2 different colors of DK weight yarn.
  • Baa Ram Ewe - Woodnote DK: 34% Bluefaced Leicester, 33% Masham, 33% Merino - 204m/223yds - 100g per skein. Sample uses colorways 001 Mouse for MC and 004 Toad for CC.
  • One skein of Baa Ram Ewe Woodnote DK in 001 Mouse and one skein of Baa Ram Ewe Woodnote DK in 004 Toad is needed in all sizes.

Needles

  • 2.75mm / US 2 for brim and
  • 3.25mm / US 3 for main fabric
  • 14” Circular needles for knitting the hat in the round, and circular needles for magic loop or DPNs for the crown decreases in the same needle size you are using for the main fabric.
  • The sizes above are only a suggestion. Choose needle size to obtain the correct gauge.
