The shawl was designed to celebrate friendship through thick & thin. I have made it using lace weight and fingering/sock weight yarn for the thin yarn and used ribbon, thick handspun yarn and worsted weight, slow-variegating yarn for the thick yarn.

It is a lovely shawl that is light, airy and features that POP of thicker yarn for color, contrast or texture.

Finished Size: Unblocked 50” wide x 18” deep,
blocked 68” wide x 23” deep

MATERIALS
Lace, Sock or fingering weight yarn, approximately 425 yards (This yarn will be referred to in the pattern as thin yarn.)

100 yards worsted weight yarn or bulky ribbon, tape or thick novelty or handspun yarn (This yarn will be referred to in the pattern as thick yarn.) I have used Knit Picks Chroma worsted weight, Lion Brand Incredible and chunky handspun yarn.

29” Circular needles, size 8 (5.00 mm) and size 11 (8.00 mm) or sizes needed for gauge (a circular needle is a must for this project)

Pins for blocking

GAUGE: With smaller size needles and using thin yarn, in Stockinette Stitch, 18 sts and 24 rows = 4”
