These are some notes I jotted down while making my son a pair of mittens for the coming winter. He is a rather large baby, so I estimate these would fit a normal 12 month size (he was 10 months when I knit these). Thumbless because experience has told me until the child is a bit older, thumbs are a bit annoying for the parent and frustrating for the baby! Stranded to add an extra layer of warmth to the hand (and colors!). Using bits of leftover sock yarn, these knit up quickly and are great for scraps!

Please note: this pattern has not been tech edited or test knit; it’s simply my notes typed up and formatted for others!

Materials

Small amounts of fingering weight sock yarn; you will probably not need more than 20g. of any one yarn. I used three:

MC - Drops Garn Fabel in #103 (dark blue)
CC1 - A Homespun House BFL in “Puddle Jumper”
CC2 - Zwerger Garn Opal 4-ply #5193 “Mittelgrau”

US 1/2.25mm 24” circular needle for Magic Loop
US 1.5/2.50mm 24” circular needle for Magic Loop
Stitch marker/progress keeper
Tapestry needle
