This pattern uses less than one ball of Mary Maxim Aran (Irish Twist) worsted weight yarn. Any other sturdy acrylic worsted weight yarn can also be used.

This pattern has not been officially tested so it is strongly recommended that the knitter carefully works out his or her own gauge in keeping with the size of the square that he or she wishes to make.

This pattern consists of a half-inch garter stitch border, a 1 to a 1.5-inch decorative border of x’s and o’s and then the tic-tac-toe outline for playing the game. The pieces with which to play the game are also knit up as flat little squares that are meant to be simply placed on top of the square. When three identical small squares are successfully lined up, then the game has been won. Anyone familiar with the game of tic-tac-toe knows that two players are required. This game is meant to be played between a supervising adult and a toddler.

This pattern is of medium difficulty and should be an enjoyable knit for anyone who has a certain amount of experience in knitting.
