Fort Ticonderoga was taken from the British by the Continental Army under Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen early in the Revolutionary War (1775). In Outlander, Claire and Jamie are at Fort Ticonderoga during the siege by the British in 1777. The fort, originally built by the French, was designed for defense in a star-like pattern. The shape of the inner battlements of the fort, is captured in this Tunisian crochet colorwork cowl, with the red and blue colors representing the British and the Continental Armies respectively. Worked in-the-round with two skeins of Cascade 220 worsted weight yarn (as pictures in colors Atlantic and Christmas Red), this is a quick, eye-catching, winter warmer.
