“It’s the colors that will make you stray. They sing to you, the not-blue and the searing light, and no matter how tightly you tie yourself to the in-between, eventually, you will break free. No one swims only in the shallow water.”
― Betsy Cornwell, Tides

In the 8th century A.D. they knew tides were linked to the moon’s phases, but not knowing of gravity when trying to describe tides, one of the great Anglo-Saxon scholars came up with one of the most evocative and poetic ways of explaining them: “But the most admirable thing of all is the union of the ocean with the orbit of the moon… It is as though it is unwittingly drawn up by some breathings of the moon, and then returns to its normal level when this same influence ceases.” ― the Venerable Bede, 703 AD.
With apologies to Gravity, I much like to imagine that tides are just the result of the Moon’s breathing.

Tide Tee is a circular yoke that is worked seamlessly from the top down. The neck is worked first in plain stockinette, creating a rolling-out neckline. After that, several series of short rows are used for a comfortable and beautifully shaped finish.
The yoke is shaped with increases that are evenly distributed around the entire circumference of the upper body.
Sleeves are then placed on hold and the body is worked toward the hem.
The lace, knit up very quickly, gives a slightly scalloped hem at the bottom.
The sleeve stitches are then placed on the needles again and the stitches are bound off using an i-cord cast-off technique.
The top is relaxed fit and as it is knitted top-down lengths are easily adaptable.
Please note the lace is charted only.
