The retreating tide leaves a pattern of ripples, seafoam, and washed up bits and bobs in the sand. This sweater recalls those patterns with a single cable encircling the yoke. Simple, yet special, this is a wearable, comfortable sweater you’ll reach for often.

The knitting starts with the cable, which is made in a long strip, then grafted together to form a ring. Stitches are picked up along one edge and worked up to the neck. Stitches are picked up along the other edge and worked down for the body and sleeves.

This design was produced in partnership with North Light Fibers as part of their Beacon program. Beacon is a royalty-based plan to provide high quality patterns to knitters while paying fair compensation to independent designers. I’m grateful to North Light Fibers for their partnership, and I encourage knitters to work with their beautiful made in the USA yarns.
