TIERRA VOLCANICA SHAWL

The first time I traveled to the Canary Islands it was to visit Gran Canaria.

At that time, I couldn’t have imagined that these volcanic islands would please me so much. Indeed, I was surprised to discover a land at once rough, lunar but rich by its culture and the diversity of its landscapes changing with the seasons.

That is how began my journey through those islands called “afortunadas” and why I decided to return there several times to discover the mysteries and beauties those islands could hide.

This shawl reminds me of the magic of volcanic black sand that I discovered during my long walks on these lunar beaches. A black sand resulting from centuries of wind erosion. A black sand that scrapes your skin when the wind rises suddenly but that can also be as soft as a whisper… the whisper of a promise… the promise of a story… the story of the mysteries of those islands.

Curious and eager to see your progress and final project, I therefore encourage you to share your pictures on social media with the hashtag #tierravolcanicashawl and tag me @genre.unique.
