Gauge: 28 stitches and 36 rows to 10 cm
Needles: Straight needles 3 mm 15 cm long (you can use needles of any ength, but shorter needles are easier to use for “wrap and turn”); circular needle 3 mm (for the rubber), circular needle 3,5mm 60 cm long.

The vest is crafted from dense, richly textured yarn and features a contemporary, original design. Its straight cut and high stand collar lend the silhouette a sense of structure and refined elegance. Long ties allow you to adjust the volume and transform the shape — from relaxed and flowing to more fitted and defined.

This knitted vest looks best in variegated yarn with medium long color repeats, but shorter repeats, self-striping or hand-painted yarns make for an interesting effect, too.

You can increase the width of your vest by adding a pair of leaf motifs to each side, or adjust the length by incorporating additional leaf-pattern bands.

If you would like to knit a stole or a blanket, I recommend beginning from the Second Divider Band. In this case, replace the pick-up stitches with a standard cast-on and continue working according to the instructions until you reach the desired size.

This project is much easier to knit than it may seem, as the elements are repeated throughout. However, the beginning requires careful attention. It is assumed that you are confident with the pick up and knit/purl technique. However, if you experience any difficulty with it, I recommend using an additional needle with a very sharp tip or a smaller-sized crochet hook to assist you.
