The 17th century motif on this cowl brings to mind wall or floor tiles. The word tile comes from Old English tigele. I used a hand-coloured contrast colour in my version of Tigele Cowl, but it would also work well with a solid contrast colour.

Contrast Colour (CC) Ancient Arts Big Squeeze Bulky 116m / 100 g (127 yds / 3.5 oz), 1 skein. Colour Garden Gnomes and Pink Flamingos. Any currently available Chunky (#5) yarn with similar yardage may be substituted.
