A Brioche stitch enthusiast’s dream, Tilly by Lana Jois is a squishy, magnificent triangular shawl worked from tip to border. Beginning with just a few stitches, this shawl quickly grows into an undulating, vine-like fabric that mimics trailing succulent plants.

Finished Size
60” / 152.5 cm wingspan, 45” / 114.5 cm depth along border.

Yarn
Hudson + West Co. Weld (70% U.S. Merino / 30% U.S. Corriedale; 200 yds / 183 m; 1.76 oz. / 50 g): gold leaf, 5 skeins.

Needles
Size A (for shawl): Size US 6 / 4 mm: 32” / 80 cm circs.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions
Tapestry needle.

Gauge
19 sts and 46 rows = 4” / 10 cm in charted st pattern on Size A needles, after blocking.

Note that in brioche st, each visible row is two completed rows. Gauge is not critical for this project, but a change in gauge will affect finished measurements and yarn requirement.

Skills Required
Increasing, decreasing, brioche stitch.
