I wanted to make mittens and hats for children that I could donate, if you use this pattern for a child that you know please consider making an extra set for a child that you don’t.

I found that using worsted weight yarn was too thin and stiff, so I looked for a pattern that I could make a set using something thicker. When I couldn’t find anything I pieced a set together myself.

I tried to make this set warm enough for winter in Canada yet still comfortable to play in during recess.
