Timeless Diamond Lace Triangle Shawl
Pattern Notes
Beginning CH 4 counts as a DC + CH 1 throughout the pattern.
Fringe is optional.
Repeats begin at Row 10.
This pattern was designed using a light Weight 4 worsted yarn and a 5.5 mm hook.
Yarn & Hook Notes
DK weight yarn may also work well for this pattern, but I recommend sizing down to a 4 mm or 4.5 mm hook.
Keeping your DC stitches from becoming too loose is important for helping the lace design remain visible and defined.
Variegated yarns can create beautiful results, but they may make the stitch pattern more difficult to see once worked up.
If using ombré or striping yarns, I recommend choosing colorways with softer transitions or lower contrast for best stitch definition.
Design Notes
This pattern can look a little chaotic while actively crocheting it — trust the process.
I highly recommend occasionally laying the project flat or stepping back to take a photo while working, as the diamond lace design becomes much easier to see from a distance.
Blocking
Blocking is extremely important for opening the lacework and helping the texture and design stand out.
My preferred blocking method is heavy steam blocking, though many blocking methods will work successfully.
