A chunky brioche cowl, knit for my nephew, Tim!
Two size options for each of two styles. Three different chunky yarns.

Celebrating my nephew, Tim’s 21st birthday, I knit a chunky version of my brioche cowl for him. He loves big, chunky cowls and mentioned he was looking for a cowl in gold colors. He usually wears greys, so I jumped at the chance to knit something for him using a bright color. I felt that pairing gold with greys for two color brioche knitting would be pleasing, so I used gold Berroco Vintage Chunky with grey Berroco Inca Tweed, finishing the moebius with i-cord bind off in a third yarn, grey Vintage Chunky. (Both greys are the same shade.)

Brioche knitting produces a stretchy, ribbed textured fabric. Two-color brioche knitting results in a stunning work of contrasting solid colors. Choosing a variegated and solid mix enhances the flow of color in delightful ways. Knitting the two color brioche cowl as a moebius also creates a unique knitting experience, making the color play even more dynamic. Adding a third yarn for the i-cord bindoff finishes the moebius nicely. I chose to use the same grey colorway for Tim’s cowl, but adding a different color for the i-cord would be fabulous!

Two pattern versions are included, the moebius or infinity cowl, and two length choices in this pattern; one is approximately 7” deep x 74” in circumference, and the other is approximately 8” deep x 36” in circumference. Gauge: 3 sts./in. Longer size instructions are written in parentheses.

10 1/2” circular needle in 47” length for both moebius versions.
10 1/2” circular needles in 32” length for the infinity versions.
