In this pattern, you’ll learn to create cute fish and a matching tin. The fish and tin are worked in single crochet and the pattern is great for beginners! The pattern also includes optional instructions to add catnip, making it a perfect handmade toy for your feline friend.

Gauge:
- 10cm x 10cm = TODO in single crochet, with 3.5mm hook and worsted weight yarn

Size:

  • Each fish is about 12cm long, 3cm wide
  • Tin is about 12cm long, 9cm wide
  • Size can be adjusted by changing yarn weight and hook size. There are gauge checks throughout the pattern to ensure your completed fish will fit in the tin

Materials needed:

  • 3.5mm hook
  • 1 stitch marker
  • Darning needle
  • Stuffing material
  • Catnip (optional)
  • Any worsted weight yarn, 5 different colours (3 different colours for each fish, 1 colour for the tin, and black or 1 contrasting colour for the tin seam and fish eyes)
  • Approximate yarn for each fish: 9m (27m for all 3 fish) plus scrap contrasting yarn for eyes
  • Approximate yarn for the tin: 42m plus scrap contrasting yarn for tin seam
