This is a great pattern for using up scraps of worsted weight yarn! You only need 6 grams of yarn for the little hat, and 3 grams of yarn for the pom pom.

I accidentally created this pattern when making little samples for my hat class. I use them to teach K2tog decreases, and drawing up of the last stitches for the top. The samples were so cute that I added pom poms and made them into ornaments.
