This pattern is for a tiny crochet top hat. It is a very quick and easy pattern to work up. The top hat was originally created for a stuffed animal but it could also be used to create a unique hair accessory.

The hat is stuffed to help keep its shape so you do need a small amount of fiberfill. It is worked in three pieces, a bottom closure, a main top hat and a hat overlay. Both the bottom closure and main top hat are worked in rows with turns back and forth and the hat overlay is worked in the round.

The gauge is not really important. However, the overlay is designed to fit snugly around the top hat so if you do substitute yarns for the hat you may have to alter the overlay to fit.
