“Tiny dancer“ features big stripes (with 24 rows) on the back and the lower part of the sleeves and small stripes (with 6 rows only) on the top of the sleeves and the front piece. As the sweater is seamless, this requires a sophisticated construction, so the sweater is not really suited for beginners.

Construction
The upper back is worked (top-down) first, separately. Then stitches for the front pieces are picked up from the shoulders, and after adding a few short rows for the shoulder slant, the stitches for the cap sleeves will gradually be picked up from the edges of the back, so the sleeves and the adjacent front sides will be joined with the back as you go.

On the lower body, the big stripes are continued in their respective size for back and front. Apart from that, the back piece gradually gets wider and folds around the sidelines, to be joined with the small stripes of the front piece.

Needles: Main needle size is 3,0mm (2 circulars of this size needed); 2,0mm/ 2,25mm for edges.

Gauge: 28 sts x 42 rows in Stockinette after blocking.

Yarn: Approx. 1200/ 1300/ 1400/ 1500/ 1600 m of a Light Fingering weight yarn needed, in 2 colors, with 80-120m more of C2 (plus 80-120m of C1 for 1 additional big stripe).

For my sample, I have used Skudderia Egypt (50% Alpaca, 25% Silk, 25% Linen; 400m/ 100g) in colors C1= “Ballerina” (the lighter color) and C2 = “Macaron”.

The sweater should fit at the shoulders. Use a well-fitting shirt or sweater with sleeve caps to measure shoulder width B.
If you need additional bust width, you can work more increases later.
Worked at a gauge of 2 stitches less on 10cm, the piece will get one size bigger.
