Make your own sprout decoration with my quick, stash busting knitting pattern! These sprouts are tiny in my eyes (as I tend to design huge dragons, lobsters and foxes), but they’re probably slightly bigger than real life ones.

They’re a great addition to any Christmas tree and the perfect handmade gift. They use hardly any yarn and don’t tell anyone, but they’re super quick to make!

You can use any DK yarn to make your sprout, or size them up or down by changing the weight of the yarn and needle size. You’ll also need to change the eye size too. I’ve included every row in the pattern to help if you do scale this knit. Please note this is not the same pattern as my giant sprout. Knitting this pattern in super chunky will increase the size, but it will not give the same results as my original giant sprout.

RECOMMENDED MATERIALS
I used Stylecraft Special DK (100% acrylic, 295m per 100g). You can use any DK yarn with a similar tension. M - Main Colour - Apple Green - 8g
C - Contrast Colour - Green - 8g
B - Black - tiny amount

STITCHES USED
This pattern uses knit, purl, increasing (Kfb) and decreasing (SKP and K2tog) and mattress stitch for sewing it.

SKILL LEVEL
Easy. Perfect for knitters who know how to follow a basic pattern.
