Tiny Tree Stockings
These quick, addictive, no-sew Mini Christmas Stockings may well become your next favourite make!
Once you get the hang of these you’ll be making them so quickly. Around 20 minutes for the XXS size, 25 min for the XS size and 30 min for the S size from start to finish!
Make these Christmas Stockings as a Christmas tree ornament, a garland, an Advent calendar, for random acts of crochet kindness, or as a gift/card topper.
These little cuties are quick to make, and use very little yarn.
Let your imagination soar, try using various yarns & fibres with appropriate hook sizes to give your stockings a different look.
This pattern comes with:

Here’s some lovely ideas for using your Mini Stocking pattern!
- Make a collection in your chosen colour scheme to feature on your dining table for Christmas Day
- Make a bunch in your favourite colours and create a garland or add to a wreath base for a seasonal wreath.
- Add to wrapped gifts or handmade cards.
- Make as a cute tiny gift, easy and quick enough to make a number of them for your nieces and nephews, grandchildren or your children’s friends! Especially great with a candy cane or a little note of love rolled up inside.
- Make tiny ones using embroidery thread or crochet thread (#3 or #10) and attach to a key chain, or length of crochet cord as a bookmark.
- Create a pair of adorable earrings by sizing down the pattern (very easy to do!) or using lace weight yarn and the XXS size.
Yarn Used for samples:
Various brands of hand dyed fingering weight (4ply, #1) yarn, sock yarn works well. Yarn with elasticity and bounce is my favourite - wool or acrylic or a blend of fibres, but cotton can also be used.
Experiment with your choice of yarn, adjust your hook size and be aware that your yardage will vary.
Amount required: a total of 9m (XXS), 12m (XS) and 15m (S)
Hook size: 3mm with the above yarn
(2.75mm C-2 or 3.25mm D-3 are suitable US substitutes.)
I recommend using the hook size you would normally use for your chosen yarn.
Other Supplies:
Yarn Scissors
Tapestry needle
1 x Stitch marker
Finished size:
When made with fingering weight (4ply, #1) yarn and 3mm hook -
XXS - 6 x 4.5cm
XS - 7 x 5.5cm
S - 8 x 6cm
I look forward to seeing your creativity with this one, and can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Lots of love, Joy xx
