Tira-hat is worked in round from brim up. The pattern has both written and charted instructions.

You can easily adjust the length by adding more pattern repeats for longer, more sloughy hat.

Sizes

To fit head size 20, 22, 24 inches 50-52, 54-56, 58-60 cm.

Finished measurements:
Brim finished circumference non stretched 37.5, 41.25, 45 cm/ 14 ¾, 16 ¼, 17 ¾ inches.
Body finished circumference 47, 51.5, 57 cm/ 18.5, 20 ¼, 22.5 inches.
Height approximately 18.5, 21, 23.5 cm/7 ¼, 8 ¼, 9 ¼ inches.

Yarn

50-60 g of fingering weight yarn, app. 210 m (230 yds) per 50 g. The sample hat was knitted with Garnstudio DROPS Flora, (65% wool, 35% Alpaca), 210 m/230 yds per 50 g.

Needles etc

Size 2.75 mm/ US 2 and 3.25 mm/ US 3 circular needle, 80 cm/ 32 inches or longer for magic loop or set of four DPNs.
Markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge

32 sts x 48 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches with smaller needles in k1, p1 ribbing stitch after blocking, not stretched.

28 sts x 48 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches with bigger needles in pattern after moderate blocking (stretched width wise).
