Tirtoff is a tubular infinity cowl, worked in the round, using a provisional cast on and grafted.
The design is available in two sizes, and is easily adjustable.
The inspiration for Tirtoff comes from the interlocking, geometric shapes found in 1920s design and decoration; using Art Deco/ Nouveau inspired surface patterns as a springboard, and drawing on Romain de Tirtoff’s 1921 cover illustration for Harpers Bazaar, Tirtoff, the design, was born.
It can be playful and bright, it can be muted down for a more subtle feel, it can be worked in two colours or, alternatively, it can be worked in black and white/monochrome, with a variety of colours for the dividing bands – the possibilities are endless.
It is a perfect design for using up scraps of yarn.
Samples made using Yarntings BFL 4 Ply Superwash Minis in various shades/Undyed Merino.
Pre orders for kits will be available from Yarntings on 10 May 2025.
