One of the things that has stood with me from my apprenticeship at the midwifery clinic was the trips to the mailbox. It was never a disappointment, because even if it didn’t contain packages with unusual birthing supplies from Japan, pictures of sweet babies growing into adorable toddlers, or exotic smelling essential oils to ease discomforts, the box itself was beautiful and steeped in Arizona culture. The geometrical motifs and bright colors stood in dark contrast to the dry and neutral scenery. The box itself was a hauntingly beautiful image that has remained with me even today. This sweater inspires travel and adventure.
