Each morning I look out onto the Columbia River and watch the cargo ships carve beautiful triangle patterns into the water, pointing them towards their destinations.

Using these ships as my inspiration, I created my To the Point! Socks to be easy enough to knit while gazing out at the river, but still containing enough detail to be beautiful in totals as well as speckled and variegated yarns.

Materials:

  • 1 skein of fingering weight yarn, 350+ yards depending on length knit
  • Size 1 US (2.25 mm) needles, or size to obtain gauge. Pattern was knit using magic loop, but socks can be knit using dpns or two circular needles.
  • 4 stitch markers (optional)
  • Measuring tape or sock ruler
  • Tapestry needle

Sizes: Medium (64 sts), Large (72 sts)
