Cozy up with the Toasted Marshmallow Shawl! The shawl is warm and soft, and the unique shape is specially designed to stay on your shoulders better. It’s the perfect accessory for snuggling up by the fireplace with a cup of cocoa with toasted marshmallows, and the best way to combat cold winter nights.

The pattern uses simple stitches and basic techniques that are accessible even to newer crocheters. It features a two row repeat that is easy to remember, mindless to work up, and minimizes counting. Plus, it’s specifically designed to work with any color combination - from crazily variegated or speckled to subtle tonals - so you can use whatever colorways capture your heart.

Sample
Samples uses Dyed in the Wool Yarn Co. Work It Sock, 400yds/100g of Macaroon (color A), 200yds/50g of Nutz (color B)
Thanks to Dyed in the Wool Yarn Co for providing the yarn for the sample!

Yarn, yardage, and colors
When striped as shown, the shawl uses 400 yds of the main color and 200 yds of the accent color; yardage will vary based on how you work your stripes.

The pattern is specifically designed to work with any colors style - buy two skeins in the same colorway for a gorgeous statement piece, pair two contrasts for a two-toned stripe look, or pair your favorite colorway with a selection of minis for a fun and colorful accessory!

The sample features a single ply base, which makes the texture pop, but the pattern also looks amazing in plied bases. It’s shown in fingering, but will work well in anything up to a bulky.

Customizations and modifications
The pattern includes specific instructions for creating the stripes as shown, but also has notes for customizing. Instructions and notes are included so you can decide when and where to place the stripes, how many stripes to add, and which color(s) you want the stripes to be.

The shawl is a simple two-row repeat and you can easily make it larger or smaller by adding more repeats.
