This design for intermediate crocheters adds a distinctive
extra-deep ribbing to a classic beanie.

The hat is worked from the top in spiral rounds. Then the ribbing is worked in joined-and-turned rounds of post stitches and it’s finished with a rolled edge in the same – or a contrast – color.

The ribbing is very stretchy and provides a snug -- and ear-warming -- fit. Optional: Add a couple of buttons to adorn your hat!

This design is a cousin to my Johnnie beanie pattern, which has different proportions and uses less yarn.
