Our little Sophie is now in Hamburg, Germany. She really wanted to discover this country dear to her heart since it is the country of her paternal grandparents; they lived there all their lives and told her so much about it.

Sophie has traveled all over the country in a month and a half: from the black forest to the North Sea, Germany has no secret for her! She discovered beautiful landscapes, marveled at all those red brick houses and paved roads, took part in the cozy atmosphere that prevails in this country and enjoyed delicious Pretzels, Currywurst, Käsekuchen and other culinary specialties.

Sophie met Toby, a little sailor dachshund. He is a small dog, always happy and enthusiastic, generous and really funny! Together, they sailed on the Elbe and have just moored in the port of Hamburg. So many adventures for our tiny mouse!

Despite a little heartache at the thought of leaving her friend and this country that counts so much for her, our Sophie is excited at the idea of travelling again and discovering a new country!

Some technical points:

Toby is 14 cms high & 20cms long when he is crocheted with a 3mm hook and Phil coton 3 by Phildar.

The pattern also contains the explanations for crocheting Sophie’s sailor dress.

The pattern is available in English (US terminology) and in French.

• Skills required: slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, increase, decrease, magic ring

• Materials:

• phil coton 3 in “noir” (black): 1 ball

• phil coton 3 in “havane” (brown): 1 ball

• phil coton 3 in “blanc” (white): 1 ball

• phil coton 3 in “piscine” (blue): 1 ball

• phil coton 3 in “griotte” (dark red): 1 ball

• 3mm hook

• 8mm black safety eyes

• 4 cardboard circles (2 cms diameter)

• 2 buttons of your choice

• sewing needle

• stitch markers

• polyester fiberfill
