This is a simple vanilla cuff down sock with a bit of stranded colorwork added for fun.

The sample is made in a child’s size. For each size up, (i.e., women’s xs, s, m, etc.) cast on an additional 6 stitches.

You can choose whatever colours you like for the main and complementary colours. I find a higher contrast to look better. If you have a nylon blended thread to hold together with the CC for the heel and toe that would be great. I used a merino/nylon blend fingering weight sock yarn held double for extra reinforcement.

I used a super soft 100% SW merino for the main body of the sock; you may choose something sturdier but wool socks tend to make my ankles incredibly itchy so I went for comfort.

The Tofino Socks pattern was also available worked in fingering weight, with all proceeds going towards the Canadian Race Relations Foundation and Black Lives Matter (Canada).
