According to an online source, “The Olympic flag has a white background, with five interlaced rings in the centre: blue, yellow, black, green and red. This design is symbolic; it represents the five continents of the world, united by Olympism, while the six colours are those that appear on all the national flags of the world at the present time.”

Working in the colors on the flag in Hazel Knits Lively DK, and inspired by the official 2020 Games logo, this stranded colorwork cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up on US 5 (3.75mm) and US 6 (4mm) needles. Beginning with my favorite corrugated ribbed edging in 4 colors, this is a fun and colorful project designed to be your Games Knitting project (where you cast on at the official start of the Games and bind off by the time they are declared over), or something to knit before the Games begin to wear while you watch. The “0” and “O” are duplicate stitched post-knitting, cutting down on lots of stranding while in the letters and numbers sections.
