Knitted baby shoes that stay on.
A really cute shoe that stands up to kicking, crawling and pulling for reliably warm little toes! No fiddly ties, they slip on easily then the structured ankle band keeps them on, while still being flexible and comfy.

Technical detail
The pattern has been technically edited, you will practise knitting in the round and Kitchener stitch. The pattern is suitable for beginner to intermediate. There are full photo tutorials for all of the techniques plus photo stitch guides. The pattern has minimal seams. Blocking is advised to give a professional finish.

Choosing your yarn
The pattern was designed using a Sport/5ply held double. When choosing your yarn look for a rough gauge of 25 stitches, 34 rows to 10cm. Ball weight examples would be 50g (1.75oz) to a length of 125m (137yds). Also requires soft elastic for ankle casing.

Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, Cascade 220 Superwash Sport or Rowan Baby Cashsoft Merino are great yarn options.

Choosing your size
The sizes relate to standard shoe sizing as follows:
-Up to 6lb, UK-000 / US-00, Length 8.5cm
-Birth to 6 wks, UK-00 / US-0, Length 9cm
-6 wks to 3 mths, UK-0 / US-1, Length 10cm
-3-6 mths, UK-1 / US-2, Length 11cm
-6-9 mths, UK-2 / US-3, Length 12cm
-9-12 mths, UK-3 / US-4, Length 12.5cm

The fit is aimed at the upper-end size and age. For example, a 3-6 mth shoe size is worked out on lengths and proportions of a standard 5-6 month foot.
