Get ready to crochet your new favorite pouch, This super cute tomato pouch will bring a perfect summer vibe to your bag.

US Crochet Terms
STS - Stitch
SL ST - Slip Stitch
CH - Chain
SC - Single Crochet
DC - Double Crochet
HDC - Half Double Crochet

For this project you will need:
• Two colours of yarn - red and a border colour
• Thread - Green for the stalk of the tomato
• 4mm Crochet Hook
• Scissors
• Darning Needle

Foundation
CH 4 and SL ST to form a ring

ROUND 1
CH 3 - this will count as our first double crochet.
DC 11 times into the ring.
SL ST into the top of the CH 3.
(STS 12)

ROUND 2
CH 3 - this will count as our first double crochet.
Place 2 DC into each stitch.
SL ST into the top of the CH 3.
(STS 24)

ROUND 3
CH 3 - this will count as our first double crochet.
The pattern for this round is 1 DC, 2 DC repeat.
SL ST into the top of the CH 3.
(STS 36)

ROUND 4
CH 3 - this will count as our first double crochet.
The pattern for this wound will be 1 DC, 1 DC, 2 DC repeat.
SL ST into the top of the CH 3.
Cut the yarn and leave a tail before attaching the next colour.
(STS 48)

ROUND 5 - Round to square
CH 3, DC in same stitch.
CH 1, 2 DC in next STS.
HDC, SC in next 8 STS, HDC, 2 DC in next STS, CH 1, 2 DC in next STS .
HDC, SC in next 8 STS twice more. HDC in next ST and join with a SL ST.

ROUND 6 - Round to square
CH 3, DC in next STS. (2DC, CH 2, 2DC) in CH 1 space from previous round.
1 DC in next 14 STS; repeat from
three times. (2DC, CH 2, 2DC) in CH 1 space from previous round. Finally, 1 DC in remaining 12STS

Stalk
Using the green thread sew a 5 pointed star shape.

Sewing
Make a second square.
Mattress stitch the squares together.

Extending the pouch
To extend the pouch, attach your colour and CH 3 in the corner space, DC in the same space. Next DC in the tops of each of the stitches to the corner space, again in the corner place 2 DC move to the next corner space and DC two times. There will be a small gap but it wont be noticeable when we place the tie. DC in the tops of each stitch, 2 DC in the corner space. SL ST into the CH 3 from the start of the round. Cut the yarn and and weave in the ends.

Tie
CH until you have a string you are happy with, mine is about 60 CH long.
Next weave the tie in-between the DC row.
